Explore Albania by Campervan: 10-Day Itinerary from Sea to Mountains 🌊🏞️
Looking for the perfect way to discover Albania’s hidden gems, breathtaking coastline, and majestic mountains? With a campervan, you’ll experience total freedom, nature, and comfort — all at your own pace. Here's a 10-day road trip itinerary you can follow if you're renting a campervan from Hooti (or any campervan company). It starts in Tirana and takes you from seaside towns to mountain villages, with detailed suggestions on where to park, sleep, and explore each day.
🚐 Day 1: Arrival in Tirana
Route: Tirana International Airport
Sleep: Camping Tirana
Your adventure begins! Pick up your campervan at Tirana Airport or a nearby parking spot. After getting familiar with your home on wheels, settle in at Camping Tirana — a peaceful site just outside the city with all necessary amenities. Spend the evening exploring downtown Tirana: Blloku, Skanderbeg Square, or take the Dajti Cable Car for panoramic views.
🏛️ Day 2: Tirana to Berat (~2 hrs)
Sleep: Berat Caravan Camping
Hit the road toward Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage town. Explore the charming white Ottoman houses of the Mangalem and Gorica quarters, and hike up to the Berat Castle and Onufri Museum. The campsite here is peaceful and offers lovely views over the valley.
🌅 Day 3: Berat to Vlora (~2.5 hrs)
Sleep: Camping Cekodhima, Radhimë
Drive toward the Ionian coast. Stop along the way at Apollonia Archaeological Park, then continue to Vlora for some beach time and a sunset along the promenade. Your camping spot in Radhimë is right by the sea.
🏞️ Day 4: Vlora to Himara (~2.5 hrs)
Sleep: Eco Camping Himara
One of the most scenic routes in Albania — the Llogara Pass — awaits you! Stop in the National Park for a short hike, then continue to explore Dhermi, Jale, and the hidden Gjipe Beach. Camp under the stars in Himara.
🏰 Day 5: Himara to Saranda (~2.5 hrs)

🏯 Day 7: Saranda to Gjirokastër (~1.5 hrs)
Sleep: Camping Gate of Gjirokastra
Drive inland to Gjirokastër, a stone city steeped in history. Walk the cobbled streets of the Old Bazaar, explore the castle, and dive into Albania’s communist past at the Cold War Tunnel.
💦 Day 8: Gjirokastër to Përmet (~2 hrs)
